Socioeconomic Form

Posted Date: 11/18/25 (5:30 PM)

Parents:
Please complete the attached Socioeconomic form for 2025-2026 school year.

An explanation is below.

The Prairiland Independent School District will provide free breakfast and lunch to students
for the 2025-2026 school year, but parents still need to fill out a new socioeconomic form.

Although your students are eating free Prairiland ISD is still required to collect and report the
socioeconomic status of each student to the Texas Education Agency. This ensures
campuses receive a portion of federal funding, which directly impacts campuses and
students throughout the district. The information is also used in the calculation of our E-Rate
discount, which is how we provide internet access to the district as well as other services.
We lost our big discount this year due to a lack of response on this form and now we
are at risk of losing our federal funds of over $250,000.

Lastly, this information is utilized in the annual state accountability A-F ratings, ensuring that
each campus is compared to other campuses with the same percentage of economically
disadvantaged students.

Parents must complete and return one form to each school where they have a child
enrolled. The form is attached if you did not fill it out during online registration. If you chose
not to disclose your income previously, you can participate this time.

Thank you,
